Beginnings, endings, and the tricky middle part
This Substack is hitting pause. I'm unsure when I will be back. Thanks for your support.
It's not often you wake up to the news that your dad had to go to the emergency room overnight and that your aunt died. It's been a tough morning, particularly for my parents. It was my mum's sister who died. All these endings, but also beginnings too.
I'm embarking on a new chapter with my refreshed website and focusing my efforts in my third act on growing my YouTube channel. As such, I think it's probably unfair for me to continue to charge people to be a member on this Substack. In fact, I'm not sure how much I'll be writing on this Substack in the future at all. It will be infrequent, that's for sure.
It was a simple experiment. It just didn’t turn out as I had hoped. We live, we learn (if we are lucky).
If you have recently paid either for a monthly or yearly subscription, then please contact me and I will be sure to issue a pro-rata refund if that's what you'd like. In the meantime, I'll keep this here and open in case I think of anything to say, but at the moment, I just want to maintain my focus on one thing. As well as family. I don’t have the energy for much else.
My website is set up as a ghost subscription website. It's free. You can find out more about what I'm up to other than writing and now that I've left psychology. It's been a pleasure and an honour to interact with you as a community here on this Substack, but I feel my energy is limited these days and I have to be careful about how and where I focus it.
I do feel the weight of writing and feel like I'm letting you down and I want that feeling to stop. Thanks again and please feel free to drop me a line. This channel remains open.
ps I don’t really post on Twitter/X these days - I liked Pebble as an alternative, but that was another experiment that didn’t work out as planned. You can find me on Mastodon: @Sarb@pebble.social
Kia ora and thank you for sharing your stories, your varied and unique experiences and your whanau. I am recently retired from more than 50 years in education, including a short time as psychologist. Finding it hard to get into a daily rhythm having maintained a consistent schedule for such a long time. I have no doubt you will navigate the tricky space when you have the energy. Meantime, enjoy your break, stay strong and well. Go running! Arohanui tonu. Charlotte
