I went to a co-writing space for the last few months every morning and I really loved it. Getting out early every morning, a quiet place to focus that wasn't just my home, seeing other people working too. Unfortunately the place shut down and I've gone back to occasionally working in coffee-shops and many more hours at home, but I'm glad for what that space provided while it lasted!

This is encouraging, thank you - I'll be dropping them note to get myself set up to try and get there a couple of times a month to start with - that's about the best I can do with my schedule with small kids and other commitments. But I'm looking forward to it.

My comment is combing this post and your prevoius one about aging and aching an puffing just walking up the stairs.

I liked reading these. Felt less alone in the similar kind of struggles. When I was younger I commited to aging with grace. So easy to say when you're not there yet.

I live in Auckland so today I got up in soldier mode went to my clinic for in person appointments, determined not to sink into the despair of isolation working from home in a state of environmental crisis. Clients cancelled and finally I accepted the safest thing was to head back home when I received the Red Alert Warning for weather and advising go home off the roads early if possible.

Disappointed I drove home, finished my work day in isolation. I just don't enjoy online chatting like I do the physical company of a human I like.

I go to the movies a lot by myself which I usually enjoy more than I don't. Last weekend I went with a friend who liked parts of the movie I liked. It was just so much more fun laughing together about the scene than laughing on my own.

I'm glad you felt connected to my posts these last couple of days. I;m trying to write with less of a goal that is too hard to attain. More raw and what is going on for me in the here and now, and how it echoes in my internal and external worlds. I'm glad you made it home ok. Stay safe. And yes, there is no replacement for human interaction, especially shared laughter where you don't even have to explain why you are laughing at the same things.
