At the end of this week, I’ll be taking about 4 weeks off writing here. I’ll be off all social media too. I’m taking our eldest daughter to go see family soon - spending about 3 weeks in London and England.
We would go as a whole family, but our two youngest girls aren’t quite vaccinated yet: one because she is too young, and the data is shifting around quite a bit for the risk/benefits for vaccinating kids around the age of our middle daughter. We may wait a 6-12 months to see how things settle in this Covid world before we figure out what to do about that. And maybe for prices of flights to get a bit more sensible again.
I’ll still be posting as usual this week though.
Are you thinking about taking a trip to re-unite with family and friends overseas soon? And if so, tell us more about your plans - what are you looking forward to?
We will arrive the weekend after the official mourning period following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II ends. I wonder what it will feel like when we arrive?
ps If you haven’t yet considered becoming a paid member, please do. Your monetary support is not only a real morale booster, but it helps pay the bills too. All got to earn a living, right?
Kia ora Charlotte - sounds like you got some great runs in. I completed Phase 3 and will post about that later this week. Well into Phase 4 now, which I will complete before I leave. I will be one run into Phase 5 the day before we fly - and I'll complete that on the streets of London. I'm planning to do a run/walk 5K parkrun with my daughter - she's never run more than 2-3k before, so a run/walk is good to get her over that hurdle. And I'll also go for an evening run in Hyde Park with my old running club. It's very rewarding to be back running again, and I'm even enjoying all the strength and flexibility workouts too. We will arrive in London just after the official mourning period ends. It will be an interesting time.
Kia ora Sarb. Was thinking of you when we were doing our back to back runs this weekend. Worst conditions ever for Kinloch and much better terrain (albeit boring) for the Trail Trilogy from Te Aroha to Waihi. With your Running Plan now, you'd be better to stick to the more familiar runs maybe. Pleased you returned to Great Barrier. Excited that you are taking your daughter to England too. Exorbitant prices with whānau wanting to get over there for the Queen's tangi. Nga mihi aroha

Have a great time on your travels 😁
Thank you!
