It’s good to be back and I thought I’d check in to see how everyone is. It’s a strange time out there, and here online too. In an act of self-care, I took a month off social media from mid-Sept to mid-October so I could be fully present with my experience of being with Family in the UK again. I can’t say I missed fractious side of social media all that much.
But, at the same time, I missed connecting with good people - and there are good people out there, like you and me.
With Elon Musk taking over Twitter, it feels strange to be coming back to that place too. All the talk is quite fearful about what might happen next. No-one quite knows, and the situation is changing every day. Predictions are that it may supercharge the platform, make it a place of hate and culture wars, or completely disappear, a bit like MySpace and Friendster did - anyone remember them?
I certainly missed you all and my writing too. I’ve applied to Substack to get access to a new “Chat” feature that works via the Substack App, but I haven’t heard anything back yet. I think that might be a great way to stay in touch with one another.
