It’s been a huge week for our family, with those birthdays I mentioned last week. The weather played ball for a great little birthday party this afternoon too, allowing for a great little get together with family and kindergarten friends (with lots of windows and doors open for good ventilation in the still-covid-times too).
Our oldest daughter wasn’t left out, making us proud with how she handles herself, walking in both adult and 3-5 year old worlds. She’s already been approached for future baby-sitting gigs - when she’s old enough.
Personally, I’ve been focusing on my re-starting my running journey again, with lots of core, pilates and yoga work thrown in too. It’s going well. Each week I get through without an outstanding physical niggle brought on by running is a win.
What has happened in your life recently that you can celebrate this week?
This reminds me of when I submitted my PhD on the day marking 4 years after I started. That was the condition of the Medical Research Council scholarship I won. I like to think of it as taking every minute available to ensure I did my best. Also, I overheard my supervisor on a call to someone else, saying "It's fine, I just wish he had the bloody thing in".
Working (proofreading) with my son over the weekend as he completed his Masters thesis and submitted it with a whole 2 hours to spare.
